Why am I here?Edit
]'m Declan McCabe and I teach a course on Biology in Elementary Schools at Saint Michael's College in Vermont, USA. The student educators in the course develop and then run science classroom ideas. Groups of students, their teachers, and a small army of volunteer parent driver/chaperons bring the grade-school students to the college to try out our program.
The teaching ideas are developed collaboratively by groups of college students, and this is where the wiki site comes in. Our hope is that the ideas will improve over time and be available, not only as a resource for the developers, but for others looking for tested teaching ideas. Here are our ideas to date
OK, so the above is why I came here; I am still here in part because the other Wikia folks have been most helpful (users, administrators, and the folks on the live help line).

Ideas I am considering developing or I wish someone else wouldEdit
- Shared video clips; a collection of short teaching demos made available here on the education wiki
- Improvised equipment; things like sieves from crochet hoops, and quadrat frames from PVC pipe; simple instructions and a few photographs
