A problem that may be subtle enough to go unnoticed are tired pupils. Pupils who get into the habit of staying up or reading too long may be sleepy in school and may grow used to being tired as a normal condition in school. The problem may appear silly but could actually become quite challenging: How can a mentor notice the problem at all and how tired is too tired? What can be done to influence something that happens always in the absence of the mentor? How much strain is put on the mentor-protégé relationship if the parents are involved?
